About

I am Naomi Marston, a qualified, integrative counsellor working independently and a member of the British Association Counsellors and Psychotherapists, Infant Loss Foundation and Chartered Management Institute.

I have been counselling for over 20 years, and have experience within the NHS, private and voluntary sectors for 27 years.

I support both men and women through a variety of challenges such as stress, relationship difficulties, bereavement/loss, lack of confidence and poor self-esteem.

In addition to the above, I provide specialist support for parents after a miscarriage, fetal abnormalities, complications during pregnancy & baby loss; including parents whose children are disabled or living with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions.

The loss of a child is likely to be the most devastating, unimaginable experience for any parent. It is therefore not surprising to know that parents who have lost a baby or child are likely to experience complicated grief. I help and assist parents to learn how to live with their loss, finding ways and implementing strategies to carry on.

In 2019, I also became an ambassador for baby bereavement charity, Abigail’s Footsteps offering free counselling sessions for parents in Kent.

In 2021, I became the Kent Champion at the Kent Mental Health and Wellbeing Awards.
Counselling offers a different approach and support in comparison to discussing your difficulties with your friends and family, having the opportunity to acknowledge that the challenges and frustrations that you may be facing are more than you can handle on your own can often be difficult and interwoven with questions and anxieties.

Some clients come and see me after struggling to cope alone. Other’s may simply try to ‘carry on’ because they are unsure of what see counselling is, or unaware of how empowering and healing this therapy can be.

I will endeavour to nurture your emotional well-being by providing a safe and confidential space to help you gain some clarity and reflection on who you are and your relationships with others. During these sessions, you will receive empathy, understanding and a space to be heard without judgement.

“I had never had counselling before, so I did not know what to expect – Naomi made me feel comfortable straight away, and somehow it felt ok to be true and honest about how I was feeling and what my thoughts were. I realised that this was the first time I could really be open and honest about my inner thoughts, fears and feelings.”
