About Me

Naomi Marston

MBACP, MCMI, FdSc, Cert Ed

I am Naomi Marston, a qualified, integrative counsellor working independently and a member of the British Association Counsellors and Psychotherapists, Infant Loss Foundation, Antenatal Results & Choices and Chartered Management Institute.

I have been counselling for nearly 20 years, and have experience within the NHS, private and voluntary sectors for 27 years.

I can support both men and women through a variety of challenges such as stress, relationship difficulties, bereavement/loss, lack of confidence and poor self-esteem.

In addition to the above, I provide specialist support for parents after a miscarriage, fetal abnormalities & baby loss. Including parents whose children are disabled or living with life threatening or life limiting conditions.

The loss of a child is likely to be the most devastating experience for any parent in their lives. It is therefore not surprising to know that parents who have lost a baby or child are likely to experience complicated grief. I can help and assist parents to learn how to live with their loss, to find ways and implement strategies to carry on.

I first started to work with families whose children had life limiting and threating conditions over 20 years ago, supporting bereaved parents and their families became a path I seemed to have unconsciously followed.

Counselling offers a different approach and support in comparison to discussing your difficulties with your friends and family, having the opportunity to acknowledge that the challenges and frustrations that you may be facing are more than you can handle on your own can often be difficult and interwoven with questions and anxieties.

Many clients come and see me after struggling to cope alone. Other’s simply try to 'carry on' because they see counselling as a weakness, or are unaware of how empowering and healing this therapy can be.

I believe anyone embarking on counselling are showing signs of real courage, strength and self-awareness.

I will endeavour to nurture your emotional well-being by providing a safe and confidential space to help you gain some clarity and reflection on who you are and your relationships with others. During these sessions, you will receive empathy, understanding and a space to be heard without judgement.
